The numbers are devastating! But the good news is that we can bring hope and healing! IMB’s words were:

How true! Let us go and spread the Good News of the Gospel to the ends of the earth! Let us bring them hope! The unending hope of Jesus!

  1. Dear Kay-chan,
Thank you so very much for this update. I must confess to you that my flesh is so cold and numb with the disaster of other people in the world. My flesh does not want to face the reality. My flesh is self-centered.

Your post is speaking to my conscience. O may God forgive my deadly cold-heart! May the Nepali people who lost their property and houses would find shelters even today. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

    • Dearest Kinuko-san,

Thank you for the tender comment. I have been cold hearted for many years. Many people here still are. The problem is not “moving people” emotionally. There’s plenty of that. The problem is moving people to action. Rarely do I see people really sacrificing for the poor. I try. I do. I’m not perfect. I’m still working at it. But I have been praying for more opportunities to help. One major thing is that I want a job so I can earn some money to give to different missions. I save small amounts, but I want to be able to do more. I applied for this one babysitting job, but they haven’t responded yet….Please pray with me! Maybe it is not yet time. But I really want to help. :/

      Your little sister,
      Kay-chan

As Kinuko says, when we hear about disaster of the world,we often know our indifference and coldness. We are apt to think that we do not have enough to share.
Avoiding to see reality…I also have and had this sin.
Kegan, I admire you for your trying to get job for sharing. When I was a student,I did many part time job,but I spent money I earned always ‘for my need’.(buying insturuments, books, clothes,CD,for having lunch with my friends..etc).
I know that sharing with people in need is so difficult. But If we do not forget, I believe God give us opportunities.
Thank you for update, please keep on writing!
